Death of Ruth Bader Ginsburg Brings Supreme Fight to Fill Vacancy |
|
Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg passed away on Friday, September 18, at the age of 87. She was a favorite of the pro-abortion and feminist crowd, and many of Ginsburg’s goals were realized during her 27-year reign in the Court. She was fiercely opposed to traditional American culture and the role of women in the home. She believed in what her mentor Justice William Brennan taught: that American men put women in a cage, one that is comparable to slavery.
Ginsburg worked to get taxpayer funding of abortions into the U.S. Constitution, and through her book Sex Bias in the U.S. Code, advocated for combat assignments for women in the military, the draft for women, sex-integration in our institutions, and the dropping of male/female pronouns. Ginsburg also advocated overturning the laws against bigamy and prostitution.
The Mann Act was also on her hit list because she believed it to be offensive. This legislation “prohibits the transportation of women and girls for prostitution, debauchery, or any other immoral purpose.” She thought these were privacy matters.
Ginsburg also wanted the US to take guidance from other nations when interpreting our Constitution, allowing the United Nations, the World Health Organization, and other unelected non-American officials to affect our laws.
Considering where we stand today as a culture, she was quite successful. |

Ginsburg’s dying words, according to her family, were that her seat should not be filled until a new president is elected--as though a Supreme Court seat belonged to her to dictate its future. Leading Democrat voices echo her wish and threaten that if Trump were to nominate a justice and the Senate were to confirm that person before the election, “everything’s off the table,” and we will see riots and uproar like never before.
President Trump announced a list of potential nominees two weeks ago, then on Saturday, said he would nominate a female. Senate Leader Mitch McConnell said he will bring forward a vote as soon as possible. Those who think this would be unprecedented or outrageous should consider our history:
- We have had 61 Supreme Court justices nominated and confirmed by the Senate since 1900. A total of 43 Justices were seated in less than 46 days.
- There have been 29 justices nominated and approved during presidential election years. Some were nominated and approved the same day.
Republicans have a 53-47 Senate majority, and even if three defect and don't vote, a simple majority is all that’s needed. Vice President Pence votes if there is a tie.
Democrats have no one to blame but themselves if a new conservative justice is seated before the election. Ginsburg chose to stay on during Obama's second term, despite her age and poor health, to give Hillary the honor of replacing her. The rules used to require 60 votes to confirm. However, former Senate Majority Leader and Democrat Harry Reid changed the rules to allow a simple majority. At the time, he was warned this would come back to bite him.
Nancy Pelosi issued a warning on Sunday, saying the House will use every “arrow in our quiver” to stop Trump’s Supreme Court nomination. The House has no role whatsoever in the confirmation process of a Supreme Court justice. She added that Trump has threatened to not accept the results of the election. In fact, it is Democrats who are saying they will not accept a Trump re-election. Hillary stated that if Biden loses, he should not concede, ever.
- The anarchy mob is threatening on Twitter to riot and destroy property until the demand for “no new justice before the election” is met.
- Some call for physically attacking GOP Senators “if that’s what it takes!”
- Reza Aslan, former CNN reporter, tweeted, “If they even TRY to replace RBG, we burn the entire F* thing down.”

The stakes couldn’t be higher, and some people aren’t just making threats on social media. The Secret Service intercepted a package on Saturday addressed to President Trump. It was dusted with the deadly poison, Ricin.
Why this Matters: The election is less than 45 days away. We are at the cusp of completely losing our country—but God has a plan. One of the President’s top choices is Amy Coney Barrett (pictured above), who said we should always remember that a “legal career is but a means to an end … and that end is building the Kingdom of God." Barrett is fiercely pro-life and believes in sticking to the original understanding of the Constitution, as opposed to the belief that it is a living document that must be reinterpreted according to changing morals and values.
How to Pray: May the Lord hear our cries for justice for all, especially lives in the womb. Pray that the President will hear from God on this nomination. If God appoints the justice, then there's no tempest from Hell that can deter the confirmation.
Proverbs 29:2 - When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn. |
