Daily Devotional Feb 16th 2021: Fear but Fear Not

Please pray (see near bottom of page) for WH, Michael, Billy, and MV for protection from the freezing weather and restoring of utilities and water.

As man continues to walk away from God and turn its back on His righteousness, the world sinks deeper into self-inflicted madness. When I look at the ever increasing insane statements and actions of the ungodly, I rest in assurance that God is right, not the insane. After all, the LORD has told us why society falls into the psychotic irrelevance that will destroy them:

Deuteronomy 28
15 But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:
20 The LORD shall send upon thee cursing, vexation, and rebuke, in all that thou settest thine hand unto for to do, until thou be destroyed, and until thou perish quickly; because of the wickedness of thy doings, whereby thou hast forsaken me.
28 The LORD shall smite thee with madness, and blindness, and astonishment of heart:

So, when I see outlandish statements, such as math is now racist, I say, LORD, save them, if this is possible. 

But the reason why God smites these people with madness becomes clear also when we look at 

Ecclesiastes 9:3
“This is an evil among all things that are done under the sun, that there is one event unto all: yea, also the heart of the sons of men is full of evil, and madness is in their heart while they live, and after that they go to the dead.”

"and after that they go to be dead". They're denied entry into heaven. God keeps heaven clean. Confusion is the devil's handiwork, not God's.  

Even America has lost her way. Having been conquered by the author of confusion, we are experiencing the breakdown of society under tyrannical rule. Satan surely is pleased.

1 Corinthians 14:33
33 For God is not [the author] of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

Fear but Fear Not

The world is upside down. Our priorities are reversed. We fear the things and people we ought not to fear, and we don't fear the LORD.

There are two types of fear: 

• Fearing, revering the LORD.
• Fearing whatever the world produces. 

The more people fear the LORD, the less they will fear the world. Or, it is a sign of no faith in the LORD when people are fearful of what the world produces.

• If we KNOW the LORD is with us, we don't fear the enemy. We may be cautious, petition the LORD and prepare ourselves to withstand an enemy assault, but we do not fear.
• If we TRUST in the LORD, we are not afraid to stand up to unrighteousness.
• If we FEAR the LORD, we will not sin. Go, look up Deuteronomy 28:15 above. It isn't difficult to understand, right?

Fear is the enemy's greatest weapon. If fear is replaced with godly courage, we neutralize the enemy's weapon. Without instilling worldy fear in us, the enemy is powerless. If all godly people would laugh at their insane theories, ignore politial correctness, and reject race-baiting, if we, the church, would boldly call them out and dismiss their insane demands, if we would stop cowering and bowing to them, the enemies of God, our enemies would realize they cannot win against God and His people. Do we then, as followers of Jesus, not have an obligation to show courage and conquer wordly fear while fearing the LORD? My dear friend Myriam, my Christian advisor back in the days always challenged me: 

Where is your faith? Why do you doubt the LORD? Is this how you honor God, LP? Myriam helped straightening out with the Word of God in word and deed.

I leave you then with these questions, too:

Where is your faith in the face of adversity?
Why do you doubt the LORD?
Does what I think, day, and do honor God?

How to Pray

Heavenly Father, I give You all praise.
All glory belongs to You.

LORD, right now, I pray for the protection of all Americans who are affected by the freezing weather and have lost access to running water, heat, power, and internet. 
I particularly bring before you William Hammer, Michael, Billy, MV, and all others who are in the path of the freeze.
Restore, O LORD, restore the services for each of them if they have been cut.
Protect, O LORD, protect their health and wellbeing.
Let the sun shine on them, on their house, that they may live and have what they need to care for themselves, even for their neighbors.

In Jesus' name
Amen

LORD, help me, I pray, to fear and honor You in everything I think, say, and do.
LORD, let the seed of faith grow in me.
LORD, let the enemy fear You and His children, for You declared,
“He shall lend to thee, and thou shalt not lend to him: he shall be the head, and thou shalt be the tail.” (Deuteronomy 28:44)
LORD, thy kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven! (Matthew 6:10)
LORD, let us fear and honor You always and
Let us not fear the enemy, because giving in to the enemy is surrendering to the enemy.
Instead, I am here, surrendering all to You, LORD!

Galatians 2:20
“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”
