Scripture for the Day Dec 5th 2020: Humble Bee
Last year, I started a book project with a Christian author out of Seattle. I ghost-wrote the non-fiction book based on her ideas. Then came the China plague, setting us back for months.
Just a few weeks ago, we revived the project and moved into the final editing phase after two prior edits. As I was working through the edits today, hundreds of them, I got upset. I discovered that she removed two paragraphs on 432 Hertz music. Factual and interesting paragraphs. You see, I have been playing guitar and keyboard for a long time, and I have researched 432 and other frequencies extensively. I even had a 2-hour radio show playing 432 Hertz music for a few seasons.
As I was fuming over the edits, God reminded me to do everything for Him. His Word says:
Colossians 3:17 (KJV)
And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
Colossians 3:17 (TPW)
And everything in whatever kind
you should continuously be Doing in the Spiritual Word,
or by any Work by God
in the Name of Lord Jesus.
Give Thanks to God
and the Father through Him.
Colossians 3:23 (TPW)
And whatever anybody should be doing,
when doing from the soul,
you must be Working as to the Lord,
and definitely not to man.
I, therefore, repent of my selfish ways for ACCUSING the author of cutting MY research, MY beliefs, and MY conviction out of HER book, reasoning in my heart that she was too mainstream. But who am I to judge her motives? Only God knows her heart.
Hebrews 4:12 (Berean Study Bible)
For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it pierces even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow. It judges the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
Hebrews 4:12 (TWP)
For the Word of God is Continuously Living
And Powerful and Sharper more than any two edged Sword;
and Continuously Piercing
as far as Dividing of soul and of spirit and of joints and of marrows;
and a Discerner of the inner thoughts and of intents of heart.
This manuscript has been a long, laborious work of love. Because of that, the publishing author even offered to put my name on the cover. She didn't have to do that! How ungrateful I had been! But the LORD reminded me gently, I work for Him, and we all ought to always give it our best and honor our employer. That's true for any job. Because through our work, we glorify God!
The moment I repented, God pierced my selfish heart. ALL my anger and selfish motivation instantly ceased so I could humble myself before this congregation (you!). That's a miracle, because I am a stubborn guy. But God is a miracle Worker.
Thank you for your forgiveness, LORD. Praise be to You, Father God, forever and ever.
In Jesus' name
Amen
