Scripture for the Day Nov 3rd 2020: Thank You LORD
When Donald J. Trump wins the Presidential Election today, when we take back the House and expand the Republican majority in the Senate, when the RED WAVE sweeps America, please do two things:
- Thank God, praise Him humbly, and be eternally grateful for His grace,
AND - Be kind to our opponents, even our enemies. Their defeat need not any pile on. Their hurt is plentiful and the numbers for President Trump will mock them on their own merit. No need to be cruel and sink to their hateful level.
Ephesians 4:32
Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.
Let us remember that many people from the Democrat side have joined our ranks by the grace of God. Let us show the enemy the same grace that God showed us when He adopted us as His children. Let us be better than the enemy because our conduct today and in the weeks that follow will show the world the difference between godliness and worldliness. Our kindness will soften the heart of someone. Jesus in us will turn them to the Savior.
Let us bow our hearts in prayer:
Father, I thank you this morning in advance for the landslide victory of the Republican side running for Congress, and Donald J. Trump, whom You have chosen to lead this land for another four years. We are eternally grateful for the four-year reprieve we have received in 2016, and for a further reprieve starting now. Despite our sins, you have shown us grace. Despite our failures, you have granted us mercy. Despite our deeds, you still love us. Father God, help us be gracious to others. Help us follow your light that directs our path. Help us make this world a better place in the next four years with devotion to God's Word and each of us living by example, as Jesus would want us to live. Thank You, LORD, for Who You are. Thank you, LORD.
In Jesus' name
Amen
