Scripture for the Day Oct 26th 2020: A Secret to Answered Prayer
Devotional
God's word is a treasury full of amazing gems. Sometimes, we skim over verses we have read before. But that is not how we want to treat treasure. Every time we do this, we miss out on what God has to say that very moment to us. His Word is multi dimensional; and it brings to our conscience different aspects of Scripture. Never skip a beat. Let's unleash God's power today permanently for you today. Ready?
Unleashing God's Power
Psalms 8:2
“Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.”
Jesus quotes this verse when the disciples wanted to send the children away that where around Jesus.
Matthew 21:16
“And said unto him, Hearest thou what these say? And Jesus saith unto them, Yea; have ye never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise?”
Wait a minute. Psalms 8 speaks of having Hast thou ordained STRENGTH. But Jesus 'misquotes' the very Word He is the author of and says: Thou hast perfected praise.
So, In Jesus's mind, Praise equals Strength. Praise unleashes the strength, the power of God. WOW.
Let me go a step further, and this one is mind boggling. This is good. We look at four Scriptures that reveal one secret to getting a response from the Lord.
The difference between praise and worship is, with praise, we thank the Lord for what He has done. In worship, we thank the Lord for who He is. Which do you think, Jesus values more? With worship, we tap into the LOVE and the LIGHT, the full Being of Jesus. And if this is so, we have 100% protection, don't we? Who can come against Jesus? No one.
Proof of the Secret to Getting God's Response
Matthew 8
1] When he was come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him.
2] And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.
There came a leper and worshiped Him... worshiped Him BEFORE making his request.
3] And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.
4] And Jesus saith unto him, See thou tell no man; but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.
God is Love. God is Power. Release His power by worshiping Him first in prayer. What better protection is there?
Now you are going to see something; it is amazing. Every time someone came to ask Jesus to do something, they ALL worshiped Him first. Every time Watch this.
Matthew 9:18
18] While he spake these things unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live.
Notice the process:
Worshiped --> Asked --> Received.
19] And Jesus arose, and followed him, and so did his disciples.
Worshiping in both cases meant: … came and worshiped Him saying… You can do this…
He didn’t say, he worshiped Him AND said. He said: worshiped Him saying”... It is not a doctrine, but acknowledging God’s power in faith is worship, too.
Let's look at
Matthew 15
21] Then Jesus went thence, and departed into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon.
22] And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.
23] But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us.
But He answered he not a word. What’s missing? Worship! Watch:
25] Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.
26] But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs.
27] And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table.
28] Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.
Then came she and worshiped Him, saying... Then, Jesus responded and granted her request.
One more!
Mark 5
1] And they came over unto the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes.
2] And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit,
3] Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains:
4] Because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him.
5] And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones.
6] But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him,
He ran and worshipped him. That's the afflicted man. Then the demon takes over:
7] And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not.
8] For he said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit.
He ran toward Him...What have I to do with you. Why don’t you leave me alone? Why aren’t you wearing a mask…? ? ?
Noticed? The man ran to Him and worshiped Him… Then, the demon spoke.
Then, Jesus actions the request;
19] Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.
Protection Insurance: Free
Can you worship God seven minutes a day, one minute seven times throughout the day? Once every two hours, can you call upon yourself the Lord’s protection? It's the most powerful and affordable (health) insurance I can think of! It’s easy to do. Set reminders on your phone daily. Instead of worshiping God once or twice a day, spread His protection throughout the day, cover yourself. Satan has no way to get to you. If you only do it at night, well, Satan had plenty of opportunity to do his thing during the day, didn't he? The devil comes to do what? To lie, to kill, and to destroy.
Wait! what does the Lord’s prayer start and end with?
Yep, with worship! That's the prayer Jesus taught us as a template for all prayers!
Matt. 6:9-13
9] After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10] Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as [it is] in heaven.
11] Give us this day our daily bread.
12] And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13] And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
You are blessed in Jesus' name.
