Scripture for the Day Oct 23rd 2020: Repelling Evil OR How to Get Out Of Bad Situations
Devotional
Romans 14:11
“For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.”
Just after Jesus saved me, an elderly Christian woman and I became friends. Myriam was a meek lady, and she was a brilliant chef. She used her talents to gather five volunteers every four weeks to cook meals for those who couldn't do it for themselves. Myriam used to live in an abusive marriage. Her husband beat her and abused her psychologically. She endured years of tyranny by this man. Until she broke free...
One day, shortly after I became a Christian, Myriam and I left church together in my car. We were chatting away, and I ignored another car and cut that driver off. I apologetically waved to him. Suddenly, the car rapidly overtook us, gesturing at us. I upset him. But what did he want? Road rage followed. As we came to a halt at a stoplight, the man jumped out of his vehicle, ran toward my driver's side and started banging against the window, cussing and swearing at both of us. I had barely time to roll up the windows at Myriam's frantic prompt.
The other driver was out of line, now banging the hood of the car with his fist. His head was red-swollen, and his eyes bulged out of his face. Demonic rage. But then, something amazing happened.
Myriam stretched out her hand toward him as to say STOP, and uttered the words: "In the name of Jesus, get back in your car. Stop it! Leave us NOW! Thank you, Father" Suddenly, his shoulders slummed and all of his anger seemed to deflate. He muttered something, trotted back to his car, got in, and when the traffic light turned green, he drove off as if nothing had happened. Myriam glanced at me: "No one can stand against Jesus, no one!"
Isaiah 45:23
“I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.” (Rom 14:11)
This was the first time I came face to face with the practical application of the power that's in the name of Jesus. While I was looking to defend us physically, Myriam was invoking the most powerful Force in heaven and on earth: Jesus.
Many of us find ourselves or our loved ones caught up in bad, even dangerous situations for whatever reason. We may have lived in sin or had a lack of discernment. The devil often uses people to lie, steal, destroy and kill. And he relentlessly pursues his goal.
It is good to turn to trusted Christian friends for prayer in these situations. But how awesome would it be if you could use the power of the name of Jesus just as effectively as Myriam did? This episode taught me an invaluable lesson: It is not enough to have faith, we have to USE it. The more we use our faith, the more Jesus honors our requests with supernatural protection. No wavering. No doubt. Just pure faith moves mountains. If we doubt, it's unlikely to work. Noticed also something curious? Myriam didn't beg God for help. Instead, she commanded the enemy to cease his activity in the name of Jesus. Commanded! If it has a name, it HAS to OBEY; and it will, if you believe!
Philippians 2:10
“That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;”
Do you believe?
I will leave you today with a most powerful song, performed by Tasha Cobbs. This song is special to me: years ago, a woman broke down in my kitchen upon hearing this song, giving her life to Jesus. Right then and there. Praise God. Watch this all the way through!
Break every Chain. There is Power in the Name of Jesus. You have that power, too.
John 14:12
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.”
We have the power to do even greater things than Jesus? We do, because Jesus delegated His POWER to us, His believers. But how many of us make use of this awesome gift? Do you? I do!
Stay blessed in the name of Jesus.
Amen

Beautiful! Sometimes even Christians who have been in relationship with Jesus need a reminder of His Power, and our right as His Children to use it. It is also good, especially in this time of turmoil, to realize how IMPORTANT it is to pray for, and with, one another. To lift each other up to the LORD and pray. And if you are so moved, to pray for your enemies.
Dear LORD, I lift Your patriots up to you in prayer. Grant them peace of mind, wholeness of spirit, and a strong heart. Send them discernment and wisdom. Provide them with every one of their needs as Your Will, and heal the divides between mother and father, sister and brother, man and woman, child and adult. Place a hedge of protection around them and send your Warriors to aid in the battle against the evils of this world that reflect the Battle in the Heavenlies.
In thins Your Name, I ask you Jesus. AMEN and AMEN!

This fellowship is what the evil democrat governors and mayors are attempting to deny. But all they have done is strengthen our Christian unity, and while we may have been driven "underground" we will arise and reclaim our heritage and complete our mission. Be strong, and be brave. This battle is like none we have ever experienced. But nearly a decade of concentrated oppression, the People are rising up to claim God and America. God bless our Patriots fighting for us and bless them with your Wisdom and Strength. Amen and Amen.

Today is my first day on parlor. This wonderful Devotional is just what I needed, so I can live more by faith and less by sight. "
Jesus oh how sweet the name."
