Scripture for the Day Oct 16th 2020: The whole Holy Bible

Devotional

Genesis 1 to Revelation 22

Genesis 1:1
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

Revelation 22:21
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

Yesterday marked an exceptional personal milestone. I finished reading the Bible in 60 days.

In my short ten years of being a Christian, I had never read the bible in its entirety until August this year when I went through the Holy Book front-to-back in just 90 days with the help of a reading plan on Bible.com. Sure, before that, I had read passages, chapters and single books of the bible and studied them with interest and devotion. But my frustration grew over time because I didn't understand His Word as I knew I should. As I read through the Scriptures for the first time, scales fell off my eyes. The second time, my 20/20 vision of God's Word became even clearer. Many more things now make sense to me, Psalms 119:18. I expect x-ray vision the third time around.

You may say, but I don't have time. I am too busy.
Really? Not enough time to gain wisdom and claim your blessings for you and your loved ones?

The 90-day sessions took about 50-70 minutes per day. My 60-day reading sessions were 70-90 minutes per day. Only about 2,500 people have completed the Bible in 60 days on bible.com. 50,000 completed the 90-day challenge. But how did I do this and follow through?
First, I purposed in my heart that I would do it, knowing I could not cheat God. Second, hunger for His Word developed within me to where I felt empty when I hadn't yet read the assignment for the day. Empty. Hungry. I always used the audio feature on Bible.com to listen to His Word. Sometimes, I used my physical bible to read along, at other times, the auto-scrolling online text, and sometimes, I just listened while doing other things, like cleaning Trumpy Gal's cage.

If you are a new Christian and have never read the Bible front to back, doing so will open your eyes, too. The 90, 60, or even 30-day reading challenges will put all 66 books in context. The Bible is an integrated message system. When we 'speed read' the Bible, an interesting picture emerges. Suddenly, I understood worldly conflicts and their solution better. How can we understand the detail if we don't know the whole? We can't. Reading the bible in 365 days doesn't render this holistic understanding. A 365-day reading is a relaxed devotional approach. It has it's place, but a power read is life-changing.

Deuteronomy 30:19
“I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:”

Choose a Power Reading Plan for yourself today and claim the blessings the Lord Jesus has woven into His Word for your benefit.

BIDEN’S FOLLYTHE LAW OF UNINTENDED CONSEQUENCESWhat it Means to Eliminate the Oil Industry Among Other ThingsBy E.P. Unum I wrote this essay back in the summer of 2020. Now that Joe Biden is President, it bears repeating because much of what feared has, sadly, already taken place. Many Democrats and Liberals like to shout and scream about how we all need to become more climate-conscious. They like to march down streets and wave their placards and makeshift flags about the need to eliminate fracking and do away with fossil fuels. Make no mistake, the self-anointed leader of the Democratic Party, Joe Biden promised during his Presidential campaign that he would not "do away with fracking or oi
