Acid battery are safer than lithium, yes they can explode too, but as far as I know unless you have a fuel line leak your car won't catch on fire and release toxic fumes that can shorten your life span, if your near the lithium battery does. As far as I'm concerned the lithium battery is NOT something I would use. Solar can use acid batteries too. Be wise and be smart, most importantly be safe.
